Best for: a quick look in a message

Easy to view even without the app. For international trips, you can save images that include trip days and local dates.

PDF

Best for: multi-day plans, printing, and saving a file

Easy to read across multiple pages and suitable for email or file sharing. If the plans change after sharing, you will need to send an updated copy.

Text

Best for: copying and sending part of the plan

Easy to search and copy. The screen layout and attachments are not included.

Edit together

Best for: updating plans and packing lists together

Changes appear in the same shared trip. The simrip app and a connection are required. The first trip is free for each Apple Account.

First decide whether to send a snapshot or keep viewing the same trip as it changes. Images, PDFs, and text contain the plan at the time you send them. Use Edit together to follow updates in the app, with permissions controlling who can edit.

Which method fits your situation?

  • Sending the final plan to family: a PDF is easy to pass along to anyone who wants to print it.
  • Resending the meeting details for the day: an image or text is quick and convenient.
  • Choosing ideas with friends: Edit together lets everyone add plans.
  • Sharing with someone who does not use the app: they can open an image or PDF directly.
  • When plans change often: keep the shared trip up to date and save a PDF before departure.

The first collaborative trip in simrip is free for each Apple Account. From the second trip, the price on the Japanese App Store is ¥500 per trip. Up to 10 people, including the owner, can join. Editing the itinerary, bookings, packing lists, and similar trip content together, as well as joining the trip, is available until the trip end date. For 15 days afterward, existing members can continue adding, editing, and settling entries in Money. Invited participants do not need an additional purchase.

Use “View & check” for people following the plan

People helping to plan

Participants with editing permission can update itinerary details, bookings, and packing items. This suits friends or family who are sharing the planning work.

People following plans and preparing their own things

The owner can change a participant’s permission to “View & check.” They can view the trip without changing its content and check their own packing and list items through the trip end date. The app and a connection are required.

If a connection check or error blocks editing, follow the notice on the screen to reconnect or retry. Wait for the connection to return before treating the visible plan as up to date.

An itinerary export is different from a booking attachment

An itinerary image or PDF may show booking details and attachment names or counts. It does not embed the attached confirmation image or original PDF itself. Text sharing does not include the attachment files either.

To give someone the actual ticket, share the relevant attachment with participants in Edit together, or send the original image or PDF separately. Check that the recipient can open the file they need.

Images, PDFs, and text do not update automatically. If a meeting point or time changes, export again and resend it with a note such as “Updated September 7” so the latest copy is easy to identify.

Save booking files and check access before departure

Share with care

An itinerary may contain sensitive details such as booking references, phone numbers, accommodation, and QR codes. Before sending, take a moment to check the recipients and contents.

  • Are all recipients people who need this information?
  • Is it appropriate to send the booking confirmations and QR codes to everyone?
  • Have you selected the latest image or PDF?
  • Have you kept the invitation link off broadly public social posts?
