Four steps in simrip
- Start with a preset listAdd suggested items for a trip like yours, such as domestic, international, or family travel.
- Remove what you will not useRemove items you will not need, taking your accommodation, trip length, and the weather into account.
- Add your own essentialsAdd anything missing from the preset list, such as medication, work equipment, or hobby supplies.
- Check items off as you packFor things you use until departure, name the item something like “Charger (pack on departure day)” so it is easy to spot during your final check.

Reuse a previous list and put things in a useful order
Copy a previous list while the new one is empty
If the current trip has no packing items and another trip has some, choose “Copy from another trip.” Items and categories are copied with every check cleared. Then adjust the list for the trip length and season.
Use categories and order to make the final check easier
Edit categories to group items by where you pack them, such as “Carry-on” and “Suitcase.” With at least two items, choose “Reorder” and drag the handles up or down into the order you want to check them.
Shared items, personal checks
In Edit together, packing item names and categories are shared, while checks are personal to each participant. Someone else checking an item does not mark yours as packed. “View & check” participants can also check their own items through the trip end date. If a connection check or error blocks the action, follow the on-screen notice.
Three checks before you leave
- One week beforeReview what you need to buy or borrow, along with any documents that expire.
- The day beforePack clothes, chargers, and other items as you finish using them.
- Just before departureCheck the things you use until the last moment, such as your phone, wallet, ID, and medication.
